Indonesia fashion industry re-carve achievements in the international arena. This time four famous designers Indonesia participated in fashion show and accessories in mat May Afternoon Tea Fashion Show. The fashion show is jointly organized by Permanent Mission of the Republic of Indonesia (PTRI) of New York, United Nations Delegations Women’s Club (UNDWC) and Indonesia Fashion Gallery of New York.
This fashion show presents a collection of batik and woven from various regions of Indonesia which was exhibited by members of Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) PTRI New York and UNDWC. Designer’s expertise in the design and beauty of Indonesian fabrics succeeded in amazing hundreds of guests in attendance.
This show is also a venue for the promotion of Indonesian archipelago heritage and design work, that Indonesian batik and other fabrics can not only be used for traditional clothing, but also for modern fashion. Through the talented hands of the fabric designer is presented in a contemporary style, Moslem clothing to sport clothing that must remain stylish.
This fashion show is the highlight of the event of Indonesia Fashion Culture 2017, which combines fashion with Indonesian culture. The work featured in the form of Alleira Batik design clothing and collection of Muslim clothes Anniesa Hasibuan, GF Golf Apparel and accessories Clo Bag by Coreta Indonesia. The models are also enhanced by Indonesia’s leading cosmetic sweep, Wardah.
This event is an effort of PTRI New York to promote Indonesian culture and introduce the work of fashion and fashion designer Indonesia. Madame Soad Al-Otaibi from Kuwait who is the President of UNDWC expressed his appreciation for Indonesia’s effort to organize the event. Meanwhile, as host of the event chairman DWP PTRI New York, Mother Lista Damayanti Djanise also mentioned that Indonesia is proud because it has a fascinating cultural diversity.
Ambassador Dian Triansyah Djani, Indonesia’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, stated that the Indonesian Ambassador’s event at the UN revealed that this fashion show is also a promotional event for Indonesia’s tourism areas such as West Papua, Tana Toraja, Nusa Tenggara and Magelang.
The event was attended by hundreds of spectators from diplomatic circles, mass media, and fashion lovers from various countries. In addition to fashion shows, Pendet also present dance and traditional music of Indonesia which also enliven the event of this culture culture 2017. The fashion show and cultural introduction are also filled with Indonesian specialties, such as onde-onde, lindri getuk, satai ayam, siomay, peanut rempeyek and ice goblet, which the New York people appreciate.
